Philosophy

I specialize in helping people start nonprofit organizations. I discuss with the principals or Board of Directors their vision and mission, then tailor all the founding documents to the specifics of that vision and mission. What sets my services apart is my focus on the questions: What makes your organization unique? How should it be structured to ensure that it is effective and productive?

Although I am not an attorney, I am an expert in nonprofit law in New Mexico and California, and my knowledge of those laws ensures that all documents and filings are in compliance with all codes and regulations. I help organizations avoid pitfalls, and I love helping start-ups that are full of hope, enthusiasm and vision.

I pride myself in being completely honest with my clients. If I have the knowledge and experience to tackle a project, I say so, but if I don't, I am equally frank about that. I run my business according to the current realities and challenges of the nonprofit world and understand that funds for consultants are often hard to come by, so I work as efficiently as possible. Above all, I look at each assignment from the organization's point of view and give my clients a variety of options to consider.
